A hook is a device for catching fish (not exclusively), and fishing hooks on the palate, mouth and very rarely in the fish's body. The fishing hooks have been used for centuries by fisherman to catch fresh fish from salt water. In 2005, the hook was chosen by Forbes magazine as one of the top twenty tools in human history. [1] The fishing hooks usually have some kind of lure or bait, all linked by the thread that connects the fish caught with the fisherman. There is a huge variety of hooks in the world of fishing. The sizes, designs, shapes and materials are variable depending on the intended purpose of the hook. Hooks manufactured for a wide range of effects of fishing in general applications are very limited and specialized. The hook or similar device has probably been used by man for thousands of years. Examples of these fishing hooks is found in Palestine around the year 7000 a. C. Man has created fishing hooks all kinds of materials including wood, animal [2] and human bone, horn, shell, stone, bronze, to iron today, are the materials of today. In many cases, the fishing hooks are created from multiple materials to leverage the strengths and positive characteristics of each material.
